Our client appointed us with categorizing and updating various environmental and social site data types as part of their Updated Knowledge Base project in support of head office requirements to ensure compliance with the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM). This project was critical for ensuring data accuracy and risk management.
A comprehensive review and gap analysis were completed to ensure all necessary data were available. Missing data were acquired and integrated into the updated knowledge base, following categorization and conversion into a geodatabase for GIS representation.
Results:
- Improved Data Accuracy: The updated knowledge base provided our client with a clear and accurate view of their site data, risk profile and ensuring compliance with the GISTM.
- Operational Efficiency: The GIS enterprise system allowed for more efficient management of geospatial data, reducing manual intervention and minimizing errors.
- Future-Proofing: By updating the client’s geospatial data and systems in line, they ensured that their data management processes would continue to meet industry standards in the future.
